The Johari Window Model is a psychological tool created for understanding and training interpersonal development.
Friend’s Analysis
I’ve gotten two of my secondary school friends to do the Johari Window’s for me. The first chart was done by Sarah and the second was done by Sabrinna.

Based on the two Johari Windows, we can see that both charts are actually pretty similar. This is likely because I have known both of them for almost an equal period of time. Another reason is perhaps because we hangout in the same group. We have all been very close friends since secondary school.
However, there are still slight differences in the charts. From Sabrinna’s chart we can see that she actually thinks that I’m extroverted. Personally I perceive myself as an introvert as I prefer to be the listener in a conversation. I also need more time to recharge after socializing. She probably thinks that I’m extroverted because she is more introverted as compared to me. We react differently around different people based on their character and personalities.
Explain how this result will be useful for self-awareness and your communication in a team.
This model can be used as a simple analysis of our personalities. It helps us understand ourselves better and shows us the blind spots which we do not realize that we have. It gives us a rough idea of our strengths and weaknesses so we know which areas we can improve on.
In group dynamics, this model gives us a better understanding of others so we can be more accepting towards one another and also try to work around our personalities to promote more effective communication.
